The laws of the state of Utah provide for the licensing of three (3) types of pesticide applicators. These are:

• COMMERCIAL APPLICATORS
• NON-COMMERCIAL APPLICATORS
• PRIVATE APPLICATORS

Licensed Applicators must be certified. In order to maintain a license an applicator must be recertified every three (3) years.

Three (3) options are provided for applicator recertification.

• Complete the general test and the category test for each of the categories they wish to have on their license.
• Attend the annual recertification course on the final year the pesticide license is valid.
• Participate in the Continued Education Program (CEU)

Recertification using the Continued Education Program may be accomplished in the following way:

COMMERCIAL AND NONCOMMERCIAL APPLICATORS

Commercial and non-commercial applicators must accumulate twenty-four (24) approved, CEUs, within the three-year period in which that are currently certified. Of the required CEUs, the following must be obtained:

• 4 units in laws and regulations.
• 10 units in pesticide safety.
• 10 units in pesticide use.

NOTE: All CEUs must be completed prior to license expiration.

PRIVATE APPLICATORS

Private applicators must accumulate nine (9) Approved CEUs within their three (3) licensing period. Of the required CEUs, the following must be obtained:

• 2 units in laws and regulations.
• 3 units in pesticide safety.
• 4 units in pesticide use.

NOTE: All CEUs must be obtained prior to license expiration.

NOTE: The Utah Department of Agriculture will allow commercial and noncommercial applicators to obtain six (6) of their 24 required CEUs over the internet (online).

• The Eastern Subterranean Termite - 1 CEU
• Facets of IPM in Field Crops - 1 CEU
• Identifying Cockroaches In and Around the Home - 1 CEU
• Pesticide Families - 1 CEU
• Principles of IPM in Field Crops - 1 CEU
• Principles of Pest Control on Lawn and Turf - 1 CEU
• Recognition and Control of Some Small Vertebrate Pests Small Mammals - 1 CEU
• Sucking Pests of Ornamental Shrubs - 1 CEU

Registration Information

To register for the online courses, click here for the Credit Card Registration (instant passwords) Before you register Please turn off spam detection, or allow "office@pestnetwork.com" to send you email, your passwords are in this email we send you after you register. We accept Discover, MasterCard, Visa, American Express, or Checks. Once payment has been received, we will email or fax your list of passwords to enter the courses. These passwords will be good until the states' current year deadline. All classes must be completed in the current year registered in. After that a new registration will be required and a new fee charged. The courses may be printed out to study or studied on screen. When you have completed the study material, go to the "Test Questions for Credit". The test will consist of 10 randomly generated questions. PRINT this test out first, answer the questions on paper and fax or mail this back to PestNetwork.com Once received, the test will be reviewed, a Certificate will be issued and the licensing agency notified of your CEUs. We will maintain your records for the appropriate time frame.
